Parlour Tricks, Jakubi and the Greeting Committee perform at Tank Room’s Communion Residency on Sunday

If you haven’t been paying attention to the Tank Room’s calendar, here’s a regular thing to stamp into your own: Every third Sunday, the venue hosts Communion Residency – a showcase of up-and-coming national and local talent. This month, some exciting – and completely underrated – acts compose the lineup: Australia’s Jakubi, a five-piece that seems to have soul on speed dial; NYC’s Parlour Tricks have power pop and sass pouring out from its impeccable harmonies; and hometown four-piece the Greeting Committee finds some lighthearted verses for the occasional ukelele.
