Parisi Coffee celebrates its 5th anniversary of its Overland Park café location this month, though the company has been roasting coffee in the area since 2006. To honor Parisi’s roots in global coffee culture, the week leading up to the anniversary featured five curated coffees from around the world, culminating in a Bourbon Barrel-Aged Mexico Oaxaca pour-over.

Though most Kansas Citians know Parisi through their coffee shops, the Parisi business is multi-faceted. With its own Kansas City-based roasting facility, Parisi specializes in roasting, contract manufacturing, and wholesale services as well.

Parisi’s expertise in the world of coffee is widely acknowledged. Over the years, in addition to being one of the largest coffee storage and roasting companies in the Midwest, Parisi has employed a host of specialists in the field, including 2013 World Barista Champion Pete Licata as a Quality Assurance Manager, consultant, and trainer. Equally impressive is their impact on the community.

Chrissy Kehoe, owner of recently opened 1888 Coffee in Hyde Park, says this about choosing Parisi as their supplier: “In our quest for the perfect brew, we chose Kansas City-based Parisi as our supplier. Not just for their bold flavors, but for the kindness of their employees and the warmth in the hearts of their owners. It’s this blend that transforms each cup into a celebration of community for Hyde Park and 1888.”

Among Parisi’s loyal regulars, Chelsea Snide joined the celebration. When asked why she chooses Parisi over other local coffee shops, she says, “The baristas here are very friendly and I enjoy talking to them. Also, all the coffee drinks and the tea drinks are unique. It’s just a comfortable place to work and hang out, and it was the first place I went to when I moved to KC.”

Parisi’s impact goes beyond Overland Park with its flagship cafe located in Union Station and two other branches in Argosy Casino and the Kansas City Airport.

Parisi Coffee’s Overland Park café is at 7261 W 80th St, Overland Park, KS 66204.
