Papa M plays minimalist folk, sounding like Richard Buckner might if someone finally talked that tortured troubadour off the ledge. David Pajo, the singer-songwriter behind both this project and previous incarnations M and Aerial M, sells strings of clichés about red-ruby lips and singing hearts with his world-weary delivery and earnest phrasing. And that’s all great, but the show’s biggest draw is Paz “Enchantin'” Lenchantin, the bass-playing rock goddess who joins drummer Ghoul Berlin in Pejo’s touring band. When she played in arena acts such as Zwan and A Perfect Circle, Lenchantin’s followers worshipped her from afar. The Replay promises stageless intimacy, which means the place should be packed with smitten-kitten scenesters.
