Out of Time & Space Astrology

How do you let the sun shine in? (Pun intended – day of your birth is your sun sign.) Dedicated to Hair and, yes, Age of Aquarius.

Aquarius/Aquarius Rising*(Jan 20-Feb 19): The procession of equinoxes demonstrates that astrological ages move backward. And they last approximately 2,000 years. Therefore, we are moving from “I believe” Pisces into “I know” Aquarius. Letting the sun shine in (the sun rules your opposite, but oh so complementary, sign of Leo) means opening your heart to harmony and understanding/sympathy and trust abounding. Understand, futuristic star child, you don’t learn these traits when everyone gets along. You learn them as you know there will be different values and conflicts. However, you are the sociological one of this circle of animals. You do not enjoy comfortable lies (white or otherwise). You prefer truth. You are to begin to be the embodiment of our 21st-century informational age. All we ask is that you remember to have a heart, a personal awareness of your audience. Cruelty is repelling and isolating; ask fellow Aquarian, Ms. Palin, about her “blood libel” comment after U.S. Rep. Giffords was shot last year. Half-time governor hasn’t been the same media darling ever since.

Pisces/Pisces Rising (Feb 18-Mar 20): Some musicals are appealing to me – Fame (my high school Performing Arts curriculum students were similar) and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever because of the use of reincarnation work. Because we are leaving the Pisces Age of “I believe I was born in original sin and therefore I need an intercessor,” you can feel like the child who gets chosen last to play your favorite sport. Alas, twin fishes, you have the best perspective on what it means to get over yourself as the center of the universe. You have season tickets to seeing our sun shine in. And your lyrics are Golden living dreams of visions/Mystic crystal revelation/And the mind’s liberation/Aquarius!/Aquarius! As one of your ruling planets moves into Pisces (Neptune, February 3), you are to show us your inner work of experimentation and visionary awareness since 1998. Hide your soulful light under too many analytical bushels at your own peril. We will see you as if we were Roman soldiers from 2,000 years ago, and you’re newly baptized (read: zealous) Christians (martyrs). Use your multidimensional sight to be from a liberated vibe! Aquarius! Aquarius!

Aries/Aries Rising* (Mar 21-Apr 19): When the Moon is in the seventh House/And Jupiter aligns with Mars chimes in as your sun-shining 5th Dimension’s lyrics. You would have the first line (read: say). The Moon and seventh house directly challenge your individual spirit. The Moon emanates family, hearth and home; seventh house represents the “not you” (and often what you unconsciously project). You inspire us when you show your true self. It is tempting in these technologically driven times to isolate yourself to prove that you can make it on your own. However, Aquarius time of year (and by extension the Age of Aquarius, which some stargazers estimate can last between 2,000 and 2,200 years) encourages cooperation and tolerance. Differences are needed for growth. Your trick becomes being fully your courageous and pioneering self with just enough compromise to get along without losing your integrity. We count upon you calling life as you see it.

Taurus/Taurus Rising* (Apr 20-May 21): Beautifully settled and joyous grounded one, you can emanate Then peace will guide the planets/And love will steer the stars. Once we collectively reach a stage where living to survive is no longer what most of Earth’s citizens must do, imagine what kind of creative lives we could live. No one knows more about the rigors of survival (other than Capricorn) than you. Even if you are a trust-fund baby, you want to have the independence to live from your own set of values. Aquarius challenges your root presumptions about how life can be lived. You’re the classic lover; you’d fight only to protect something or, more importantly, someone of value. Until February 8, let the goddess of love, Venus, caress your dreams of a brighter and better day for yourself, community and the planet. The world is much better simply because you’re in it, acting as the gracious touchstone we’ve come to depend upon you being.

Gemini/Gemini Rising* (May 21-Jun 20): Whenever a client asks about your sign, I tell them you created the concept of lying by omission. Want to know something specific regarding you or your behavior? Ask the specific question, and it can be a leading one. Lyrics? No more falsehoods or derisions/Golden living dreams of visions. You are a wordsmith. You enjoy creating scenarios inside your extremely active mind. As the mentally engaging Mercury moves through Aquarius (until February 13), you’ll find your mind contemplating larger philosophical truths. Your thoughts occupy space near those concepts of what is life’s meaning. Is there a God? Why religion? Hopefully, if you become to frustrated, you’ll do something to break up any stale routines. Party, travel, or just allow yourself to accept limbo. Or how about this: not knowing. At present, it is OK to use your mental magic not so much in falsehoods, but in pretending as if you are in the clear and you do have the answers. Keep on asking the questions because that’s what keeps you spiritedly magnetic and wonderful. Besides, no one likes a know-it-all.

Cancer/Cancer Rising* (Jun 21-July 21): In the “Age of Aquarius” song, only three planets are mentioned. These are the Moon (your ruler), Jupiter (your exalted ruler) and Mars. When you begin to develop relationships outside your clan of origin and see everyone as a potential family member, Jupiter takes over (that’s what exalted means in astrology). When the Moon is in the seventh house/And Jupiter aligns with Mars. Your concern for others closest to you is well-documented. It is only when you skew too far in another’s direction that you can easily lose your center. That’s why this tune has a major clue. Your generosity (Jupiter) aligns with Mars (healthy self-projection and protection). You need the warrior’s self-interest that Mars promises. Until July 3, 2012, this Roman god of war battles through Virgo, a compatible earth sign of precision, service and healing. Acting from the center of your individual feeling, nature is very much on your mind. If you cannot act, then use your reserves of untapped logic to strategize a plan of how you will perform when the repressing situation or relationship opens up. You can attract supporters, but you must communicate to them how and when they can aid you.

Leo/Leo Rising* (July 22-Aug 22): Like the wind beneath our wings, you are our spiritual anchor. Paradoxically, you inspire and lift us up while simultaneously grounding us through illuminating what is actually possible to create and manifest. The Age of Aquarius is balanced through the heart-centered joy from its opposite (but complementary sign). You are that sign. The chorus (an Aquarian concept of “the many joining as one”) at the song’s end repeats, Let the sun shine in. You are that sun’s representative. You see, without you, Aquarius could suffer from misplaced or excessive idealism. Left to its own devices, the star child of midwinter would sacrifice the 1,000 for the 10,000. That’s why, no matter what insecurities you continue to entertain, we need your advocacy of how important each individual is to our human mosaic. This starts in closest peer relationships. When you shine, everybody wins.

Virgo/Virgo Rising* (Aug 22-Sept 22): Gemini gets most of the flack for being dualistic. The Twins: Which one are we dealing with today? Yet, you are the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene (which some biblical scholars say was a consort of Jesus). Not here to debate this, so much as one lyric And love will steer the stars. Hello, Mother Mary. Mystic crystal revelation, chimes Magdalene and “he who is without sin, cast the first stone.” I’ve observed that others sometimes overlook just how loving you are. Simply because you do not gush and emote, they mistakenly believe that you’re cold or too critical. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yours is a warm and giving sign. Aquarius opens your mind through service and your awareness of all the little ways you can make a difference in the lives of others. Allow yourself to trust your mystical side. Pay more (or some) attention to dreams, coincidences and, of course, your intuition. And, please, do look in the mirror and cast stones, no matter which Mary you happen to see.

Libra/Libra Rising* (Sep 23-Oct 22): You rule the seventh house, in which the Moon finds herself. Like Cancer (one of your most challenging signs), you need the lyric of And Jupiter aligns with Mars. Too much Moon (nurturing), seventh house (relationships, others) can cause your scales to tip toward resenting being with anyone. Mars balances your mental nature. Presently, Mars battles for self-assertion. He wants to help you avoid self-destruction through constantly over-cooperating. It is not your job to always seek the deliberated judge-like response. Neutrality, when overused, easily becomes appeasement. And no one respects someone who doesn’t respect herself. Trust that you know how to pierce the mysteries of what makes a joyous commitment. You may find that your philosophy of “shared sacrifice” has been evolving since June 2011. From the political (you and Aquarius created the concept of “political correctness”) to the personal, understanding how to share sacrifice means to realize what makes us whole, unique, yet alike and connected. Do not shirk from your responsibility to keep us out of cynicism. (That’s one reason that I choose such a campy tune. We all need to exhibit more humor.)

Scorpio/Scorpio Rising* (Oct 23-Nov 21): Your sign has been called the “battleground of desire.” Scorpio represents the place where our egocentric needs go to die in order to be transformed in the crucible of soulful bonds, where the two become one. And Jupiter aligns with Mars/Then peace will guide the planets/And love will steer the stars. Jupiter expands whatever planet he touches. If blocked, the passion of Mars can become domineering, even violent. And when thwarted, your earthly ruler Mars can hang out on that thin line between love and hate. That’s why you must accept how deeply you love and, even more so, realize how you can seek revenge if that love is betrayed. Until April 13, 2012, it is extremely important to sense the peace and love, not miscellaneous and shallow battleground. In other words, do not go to some emotional extreme in order to win the battle and lose the relationship. Instead, allow your loving self to reignite any friendships that have become distant; even in erotic connections, secure the honesty that usually is reserved between friends.

Sagittarius/Sagittarius Rising* (Nov 22-Dec 19): You and your next-door-neighbor sign of Scorpio have the same lyrics, simply because your rulers Jupiter and Mars align. They occupy the same space in the song’s lyrics. Accentuating each other, these two energies give you a willingness to act on your beliefs and to instruct us to have the confidence to express what truly matters to us. It is out of love that you share your enthusiasms. In the upcoming Age of Aquarius, you play the role of exuberant adviser and inspirational friend to all like-minded others. When you truly feel yourself and generous spirit, you know no strangers; everyone is a friend in the making. Once fearful and splintering organized religion is transformed into a real community-building concern, your happy-go-lucky self will be sought after to encourage us to live our truths, out loud in the so-called real world. From Jupiter to Mars to being a beacon of hope … you share lyrics also with your other next-door neighbor, Capricorn.

Capricorn/Capricorn Rising* (Dec 21-Jan 19): And the mind’s true liberation: These lyrics settle your tendency toward melancholia and depression. Your thoughts too easily get bogged down in the laborious nature of the physical world, seeing what could go wrong, operating out of fear under the mask of caution. Aquarius means teamwork. No longer will the rugged individualist be venerated, if he or she has become an isolated xenophobe. Sure, you need your hermit-like downtime; it is only when it becomes a way of life that it is unhealthy. Go on, Beatle, and sing how everyone needs love. Remove your emotional armor. Wear your scars as a badge of honor. Tell us your personal stories of triumph. Whether you realize it or not, your free mind inspires us to take on our next challenge, to overcome that seemingly insurmountable obstacle. No one is ever truly alone; no one is ever a success without the help of others.
