Out of Time & Space Astrology

The universe gives us hints all the time to keep us on path. For example, I stopped to adjust a door stop before I left my house. Less than a couple of minutes later, a man was driving the wrong way down a one-way street. Had I not adjusted the door stop, would I have run into him?
Then, my logical-lawyer brain remembers tort law. Was an accident reasonably foreseeable? Was there a superseding intervening cause (hello, door stop)? Well, not really. Just look closer at connecting the dots of your own reality, with increased and monitored introspection (a.k.a. journaling and/or having close friends who listen), and you will be amazed in direct proportion to your introspection.
Water Element
Water Element’s Pop Culture Energetic Representative: Arianna Huffington (Cancer) 7/15/50
In astrology, there is a concept called “houses.” Houses represent unique places of action for the planets to hold court. The three water signs are without boundaries. Sometimes being a water sign can feel like living at the bottom of the world’s flooded basement; you must be receptive to everyone’s else feelings, secrets and fantasies. Basically, you want to show love to seep into our hearts like a welcome glass of your favorite drink (Scorpio, fixed water in a container), a geyser (Cancer, initiating water from source) or doing yoga by a babbling brook (Pisces, changeable water, moving, yet referencing the water bed).
Pisces, February 19-March 19, adapting feeling
Scorpio, October 23-November 21, concentrating feeling
I am fond of saying, “You learn your chart in order to transcend your chart.” Pisces, this transcendence is for you. Like Bud, you must escape from the rigors of physical reality. However, escapism has its own set of problems. This Full Moon highlights your propensity to whine and over-share. When challenged, you take little to no responsibility for how you affect others emotionally. You muse (and delude) that you are sensitive and easily hurt. No worries, no denial. You are amazingly sensitive to what has hurt you. Beyond time to broaden your scope of your alleged sensitivity. Your house that Jack built is not in order. Huh? It is 50 years ago, and America is having a royal mind meld (talk to an original Star Trek geek). Hello, Camelot. Grace meets raunchy royalty. Imagination and class clean up new Prohibition money. Defensive warrior, Pallas Athena, moves through your sign opposing her brother Mars in Virgo. Hypocrisy will not be tolerated. Your embarrassment grows like Carol Burnett playing Gloria Swanson nearly 40 years ago. Ouch. Now, accept playing the role of bully (a.k.a. shark or barracuda) instead of imaging yourself as a victim (a.k.a. guppy or minnow). I’m sure it is what you believe to be a complex mixture of both.
Like Capricorn Limbaugh is being forced to learn from Mars in the evolutionary police sign of Virgo, your philosophical police has strong Scorpio traits. Follow the leadership of those who joyously assume their chosen responsibilities. Realize where you are in continuing education, fostering a better attitude when relationships do not go your way.
Cancer, June 21-July 22, initiating feeling
It’s hoped that you are learning how to read your entire element’s message. Unlike your water-sign siblings, you have a manner of getting over past slights. When you sense that you have milked the amount of guilt and shame, you do know how to move on … when there’s a brighter, younger and/or richer bauble. Risk excessive servitude at your own peril. Like a Sag (or virgin), too much repression makes you squander your gifted pearl (boys have pearls, too) at the first bad boy. No shame in what you feel, that’s your aphorism (power statement). Reflect upon whether your actions or words hurt another, but feel no worse beyond what is necessary for your own evolution. Be likable, but not needy.

Your PCER has led the way in website news and video (Ms. Huffington also went from Republican to a critically progressive Democrat).
Fire Element
Fire’s Pop Culture Energetic Representative: Activist Sandra Fluke (Aries) 4/17/81.
Aries, March 20-April 19, initiating spiritual (fire, visionary)
Your PCER has become the face of contraceptive freedom for women, Sandra Fluke. Each sign rules (connected to) different parts of our physical body. Aries rules the head and face. You’re all about new beginnings and stirring up the status quo. With the mostly male, white and overly entitled Republican Party, it is difficult for them to discuss with any degree of aplomb, women’s health-care concerns, sex and pregnancy. Enter Ms. Fluke. Her entrée onto the federal stage is in a similar neighborhood of the late Ms. Rosa Parks (Aquarius). Your lesson this week is to model yourself after the grace and honesty of Ms. Fluke. With Mars (your guardian) still moving backward, your assertiveness and/or aggression is until under review and re-evaluation. Instead of taking no prisoners, it would be better to adopt a “wait and see” attitude toward all confrontation. Ms. Fluke was drawn into this reactionary 13th-century conversation.
Leo, July 23-August 22, concentrating spiritual (building your identity)
There are times that your stubbornly rigid ass makes my day. When you operate from the courage of your convictions and refuse to pander to any and all audiences (even those conflicting voices in your head), you radiate with the magnitude of a thousand suns. Too much? During this past Full Moon, your world is being illuminated through what’s yours, what’s mine and what’s ours. Is it love or money? Do you want to be right and alone and cold or heard and connected and warm? Willfully applying your own direction over our spoken dictates nets you a freeze that you will not enjoy (and truth be told, we do not enjoy putting our well-earned clouds over your sunny day/disposition). Early next week, your long-term goals come under an intense (but mostly optimistic) review. See your future now.
Sagittarius, November 22-December 21, adapting fall
This past Full Moon balances home and your need for privacy to your career and professional demeanor. Most folks do not realize that you have a hermit side. Adventurous, yes. Enthusiastic, for sure. However, you enjoy time in nature and larger venues that elicit inspirational thought and vision. With your ruler Jupiter (expansion and good fortune) conjoining Venus (love, art and pleasure) in Taurus (your sixth house of healing, work and service) next Wednesday, you are in an exceptional position of creating a miracle within your physical body. In essence, you can confound your doctors, your waistline and those who have seen you as a mythological Cassandra (she was given the gift of prophecy, only to be cursed that no one would believe her).
Earth Element
Earth’s Pop Culture Energetic Representative: Rush Limbaugh 1/12/51 (Capricorn)
Taurus, April 20-May 20, concentrating earth (physical)
Virgo, August 23-September 22, adapting earth (physical)
Capricorn, December 22-January 20, initiating earth (physical)
Power of the purse. As I write this, it looks like your PCER Rush Limbaugh has lost 28 advertisers. As a financially driven earth sign (no matter how much you accept capitalism), you have a motivated warrior (Mars) giving you an ethical lesson from your adviser of all things practical, Virgo. When you do not listen to the precisely re-evaluating earth sign of service and wholeness … yes, the mother ship still hovers around the Virgin. You cannot afford to act from making presumptions about what other people value.

Saturn accentuates what has been faulty for too long of while. Recognize how you have been assuming too much from a physical perspective. You are not alone. There are others who want to help. But if you maintain fake or shallow apologies (and the rigid positions that these create out of massive insecurities), we get no movement in the universe. Or, more precisely put, it appears that there is no movement or growth. Voluntary simplicity sometimes requires withdrawal from what you’ve been taught. Own who you are at present. Act from integrity of thought and action. If you do not, Saturn will take whatever your life’s equivalent of 28 advertisers.
Venus in Taurus until April 3. Without Venus (relational love goddess), Mars would not know what to go after. He would be the brute who just couldn’t clean up right, you know the one whose shadow is more like 9 instead of 5 o’clock, the bloke who stays too long at the party. Or the dude or dudette who has everyone believing they’ll hook up with anyone given the “correct” drug combo and daylight deniability. With a slow Mars and powerful Venus, we collectively get a limp Limbaugh. Personally, though, we realize through your fleshy flamboyant flirtations, life pleads pleasurably. Now, being laid-back bests most bull.
Air Element
Air’s Pop Culture Energetic Representative: my Clients who are Geminis (rising sign, Sun and Moon, please note you can have a Gemini mask (rising) or soul (Moon) no matter what your birth date is. (Sun sign, hello, haven’t you been paying attention?
Gemini, May 21-June 20, adapting intellectual
Sure, you may not know what I’m talking about when I start bringing up Moons and rising signs, etc. If you have not read my last two columns, then you are in the dark. And, c’mon, we both know how you do not like someone else placing you in the dark. If you choose to go there on your own, that is OK. Although I maintain in the days as Mercury does his slowdown (he retrogrades on March 12), you begin to form all kinds of submissive postures. Your life has begun to take on a cast or mold of the future. Your mind wants to blaze new trails, create new trends and be recognized for the bright star that you suspect you can be. The problems become that you tend to be only as brilliant as those with whom you associate. You’ve got to be turned on before being turned out. Or the G way of saying it, it’s the spark that gets your mind ignited. Resist too much darkness, that is, preparing for only worst-case scenarios. Use this Mercury (perceptive) re-evaluation (until April 4) to imagine how you could act from a free spirit who lives and acts from knowing what unconditional love feels like.
Libra, September 23-October 22, initiating intellectual
Aquarius, January 20-February 18, concentrating intellectual
Geminis bring some of your most ecstatic relationships. In your mind’s eye, they represent some of your basic catnip. Hello, Cheshire cat. You know your own enticing beauty. And, with your creative guardian angel (Venus) spreading her charms through sensual Taurus (until April 3), stop, the love you save may be your own. Darling, you may be reaching for a danger zone. Old Motown tune (Jackson 5) aside, you have all the soap opera making of poorly spiced New Orleans gumbo. Your present gift to yourself (and then to others) becomes your willingness to put love on top. Easily you penetrate those willing bottoms who specialize in creating mutually pleasurable scenarios. No longer do you play the coy repressive/suppressive games. These next several weeks give you an exceptional perspective on integrating objective friendship and passionate soul-filled bonds.

Gemini can certainly symbolize what I call a “Fun Director” (especially for gloomy Aquarius without a planetary cause or mission). Whenever you or Libra become guilty of excessive intellectualizing, the twins enter center stage. They can easily make an intellectual sandwich of your conflicting relationships, your inability to give your heart as readily as you can give your body. Aquarius, as otherworldly star child, you may refuse to understand the customs and mores of your community that give you support. At your worse, your rudeness and lack of class are off-putting and leave you limp and unapproachable. To be physically loyal while verbally sadistic to your primary partner nets no one nothing. Love must top, save the day and be an afternoon delight, certainly if we are going to stay together. In other words, this cannot be simply a loyalty built solely upon mental constructs.
*The Rising Sign a.k.a. Ascendant represents your approach to life and the mask you wear. Read that sign as well to get additional information on what’s in store this week.
