Scorpio/Scorpio Rising* (Oct 23-Nov 21): Heightened awareness of what others dismiss as unimportant is a running character trait of yours. The trouble occurs when you refuse to analyze whether you are running away or toward. You are courageous, and in one-to-one relationships (without witnesses), blunt. So what if you’ve made what you consider to be a spectacle over the past couple of months? Forgive yourself and move on. You may leave the poorly trained and crude, only if you run toward what or who brings you more bliss and openheartedness. Friday morning we awaken to a Last Quarter Moon in Leo, which further emphasizes placing your unique perspective on the big picture side. What personal efforts can be made to affect the atmosphere of your chosen group of community, be they at work or home? There are numerous planetary green lights for your mark to be made in mutually radiant splendor. That means running together, as if you were in a wolf pack.

Sagittarius/Sagittarius Rising* (Nov 22-Dec 19): Better known devils and birds in hand do not tend to appeal to your gamble-big nature. Unknown devils and birds in the bush can make all the difference between the respect that gets you ahead or what keeps you looking over your shoulder for hell’s three-headed hound dog, Cerberus. Not to make you any more paranoid than you can be, but, a couple of well-timed glances in your rearview mirror will not hurt you. You see, excessive but not exceptional risk taking is ill-advised. You just do not have enough facts to support what your intuition is telling you. It is like those free-spirited birds are prematurely luring you toward mysterious devils who haven’t cut those greener grasses. Instead, reflect on what successes you’ve had this past year, and how you can learn from any setbacks in order to improve the upcoming year. Appearing but, more importantly, acting cautiously will not damage your professional reputation.

Capricorn/Capricorn Rising* (Dec 21-Jan 19): Pragmatism can be a too-tight guard worn over your heart. It is walking the fine line between being pragmatic and cynical. With your grounded ruler, Saturn, challenging you from idealistic Libra, you’ve had enough with the so-called ‘real world’. Of course, you won’t tell anyone this except your therapist, counselor or priest. Use this celebratory last weekend, before the holidays take over your life, to get in touch with what is truly worth guarding and what can be tossed to the prevailing social winds. Control your responses to those mean-spirited ones who enjoy casting stones when you appear to get out of line. Instead, use your innate sense of what’s missing from our diatribe(s) to mount a behind-the-scenes defense of those of us who’ve become entirely too judgmental. Hang with the “live and live” crowd to increase your ratio of self-acceptance to self-critique.

Aquarius/Aquarius Rising* (Jan 20-Feb 19): There’s a mildly powerful shift happening between your unconditioned (read: wild) and untamed (read: wilder) behaviors. Capricorns and Librans keep you tethered like an 18th-century hot-air balloon to a planet you barely recognize (those were the days, if you were born in the right family). These two signs lead the trends in social protocols and networking. But they can sometimes “lead from behind,” that is, they’re overly concerned with appearances and hackneyed traditions. At your best, Water Bearer, you live as a progressive free spirit, harming none, as you search for your consensual playmates. This mutation of your energies first takes place within your home, sanctuary and inner worlds. That oh-so private sensual self you guard from stern eyes. When you want grounding (or designated drivers), call upon those aforementioned signs. When you desire to consciously break a taboo or two, do not return their messages (until you’re done with your fun). Leave the persuading of others to get them to leave their conditioned behaviors to the Geminis and Sagittarians. You’ve got more uncharted territory to investigate to aid in your increased prosperity (time, love, physical affection and cash) in your life.

Pisces/Pisces Rising (Feb 18-Mar 20): Past bias in astrology gave your sign the loud warning to stay away from all forms of psychic work, lest you be duped or possessed. The answer to this caveat is through your next-door neighbor sign, Aquarius. When you do not develop their gifts of detachment, study and mental analysis, you are more likely to be taken advantage of, drawn into a maze of half truths. Allow the fuller flowering of your left-brained thinking, only if and when it is ferreting out those nuanced metaphysical truths that ultimately improve the quality of each relationship. You are not destined to be lied to. You are more likely to not recognize the mendacity of others in direct proportion to how much you distort the truth within you. Again, Aquarius holds a key to correcting this interpersonal dilemma: Step out of your feelings and get down to the business of who you really are, not the possibilities of you.

Aries/Aries Rising* (Mar 21-Apr 19): You’re being called on the carpet like an untrained puppy. Saturn continues to sit 180 degrees away from your developing raw power of consciousness in over-mediating Libra. Saturn is the one that’s putting your nose in it, as it were. From your opposite sign, you can learn the magic of shared teamwork, patience and kindness. Left to your own devices, you can take the independent lone wolf to an extreme. So you’ll have to slow down to have those “we need to talk” talks. Yet, trust that Libra searches for balance with another as you search for newness. Together, you can realize the joy of sharing your life, having someone there to witness your successes. Compromise does not mean you are owned or that you lack integrity.

Taurus/Taurus Rising* (Apr 20-May 21): Unless you’ve been deliberately holding back where you can easily give, there is very little reason that you cannot bring the support you need right to your front door. Venus (love) is living/moving through Sagittarius (Jupiter ruled), and Jupiter is living/moving through Taurus (Venus ruled). They are like guests in each other’s houses until November 26. Count your blessings out loud and place them on the record. When you have the Goddess of Love and the generous Jupiter on your side, only arrogance will cease your good fortune. You have one more week for your inexplicable good karma coming your way. Paying it forward never looked so good on you. Know this: Some of these goodies will show up in foreign packages, of a different color variant or a manner of love that you’ve not allowed yourself to physically experience. Be the genius of love that you sense you were born to be. And love doesn’t truly count for you unless it’s in the physical realm. Hugs, anyone?

Gemini/Gemini Rising* (May 21-Jun 20): For the last several weeks, incisive Mercury and inclusive Venus have been traveling side by side. You are under a major Humpty Dumpty alert that categorically states, “Take nothing or no one apart that you cannot put back together again.” Mercury (your linear mind) separates people, places and things; Venus (your inclusive heart) unifies what has been categorized. In your closest relationships, a bit of bluntness is to be expected, but to over-express pushes Humpty Dumpty over the edge. Temper yourself, so you can come back from what you see and say about what you think you know. Live by the adage “keep silent and be thought smart (Humpty’s whole), than to open your mouth and remove all doubt (Humpty’s broken, irreparable).

Cancer/Cancer Rising* (Jun 21-July 21): Learning to let love use you without becoming a doormat has been rarely easy for you. Luck has little to do with love. Luck keeps you off the doormat for a spell. Sending love out into the atmosphere like flowers emit fragrance and beauty makes your world come together in ways beyond your best and attentive planning. Flowerlike folks attract the best pollinators. You possess the ease of the flower when you need to cultivate your inner cactus. This prickly side helps you delay forming new attachments. Oh, not you? Then, the opposite of not attaching is unnatural for such a sensitive, caring sign. Stay out in a constructed emotional desert has you drinking midnight water in an oasis that does not nourish you. Place yourself on a feeling continuum in lieu of a roller coaster (unless the relationship is for amusement). Read Libra.

Leo/Leo Rising* (July 22-Aug 22): As the nights get longer, you become bereft like you’re treading water too far from a close buoy. Your energies reach downward. Night and descending forces cause you to increase your insecurities. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) comes on, and your sense of confidence begins to blow with the wind. Get out a photo album, read over your accomplishments, steer the conversation to glean more compliments – those who love and accept you, we won’t mind (too much). You look exceptionally well when you wear humility. Not humiliation (which is enforced from the outside), but a simple awareness of how unique of a connection you possess between your mind and heart. On a practical tip, check into light therapy, too.

Virgo/Virgo Rising* (Aug 22-Sept 22): It’s been said that a mind is a terrible thing to waste. A mind that’s locked in the past, focusing on what your parents did or did not do for you – you cannot fully enter the present looking backward. Sometimes, you must imagine getting to bat (flirting) before you consider first base. Your mind weakens in direct proportion to your not using it to think outside the box. The box isn’t only about sex; it’s about staying frozen or repressed with a closed mind. A closed mind for you is a wasted mind. Your mind can also be a hot mess if it gets too focused upon controlling future outcomes. And, your ruling planet (Mercury) slows down to go retrograde (November 24), so does your mind. It’s shifting from outward attention to inner awareness. Then you can know for which base you want to aim.

Libra/Libra Rising* (Sep 23-Oct 22): Have you heard “lucky in cards, unlucky in love”? The love of money can make anyone a controlling jerk or shrew. As I wrote for Cancer (your nurturing sign that also challenges you to emote, especially when you don’t want to), learn to let love use you. Enjoy the things money can purchase, but resist the temptation of becoming attached to your possessions. One way you know that you haven’t become attached can be sought through the movie title Happy Feet Is yo’ ass happy? Do you laugh at some of the silliest things without concern of how you appear? Have you submitted to the overarching nature of your relationship, the strength in numbers and the ideals espoused through connections? Being the sign to search for balance, my edict for you is to transcend luck, and work at giving more love regardless of what others give back (period).
