Opening Day The Top Ticket For Kansas City Royals In 2015
The Kansas City Royals Took the San Francisco Giants to seven games in last year’s World Series, falling just short in their bid to win the Fall Classic for the first time since 1985. This year, they return much of the same team that wildly ran through the postseason all the way to the final game, but they did lose several major pieces that they’ll have to overcome.
“Big Game” James Shields is gone, as well as Billy “Country Breakfast” Butler. Nonetheless, integral players such as Eric Hosmer and Alex Gordon will be back so the Royals should have the talent to be competitive once again.
With increased expectations and optimism, ticket prices for Kansas City are going to be much higher on the secondary market than they were last year. Luckily, new direct broker-to-fan ticket marketplace SeatSmart will be able to provide cheap Royals tickets for 2015. Below is a breakdown of the top three most expensive games this season, as well as comparisons between SeatSmart and other secondary ticket exchanges, such as StubHub.com.
April 6th vs. Chicago White Sox | Average Ticket Price = $210 | Get-In Ticket Price = $85
Opening Day is the top ticket in 2015 for the Royals with the average price at $210 and the cheapest standing room only tickets available at $85. It’s the first opportunity for the fans to get back to Kauffman Stadium to see the Royals in action.
At SeatSmart.com, there is a group of 26 tickets available in Row NN of Section 412 for $133 each. On StubHub, that same grouping of tickets (26 tickets in Section 412, Row NN) is $160 per ticket, more than 20% more expensive. The same is the case for lower level seats with a ticket listing in Field Box 147, Row L (4 tickets) at $183 per ticket at SeatSmart and $227 on StubHub.
May 23rd vs. St. Louis Cardinals | Average Ticket Price = $120 | Get-In Ticket Price = $25
An early season meeting with the Cardinals is the second most expensive game on the 2015 calendar. St. Louis fell just short of making the World Series for the second consecutive season, struggling against Giants ace Madison Bumgarner just as much as the Royals did.
The cheapest Royals tickets at SeatSmart, cost just $25. The location is Section 429, Row DD, and there are 14 seats available for purchase. If you head on over to StubHub, that same locations is priced at $34, 36% higher than what you’ll find on SeatSmart.
May 16th vs. New York Yankees | Average Ticket Price = $112 | Get-In Ticket Price = $19
A few days before the Cardinals visit, the Bronx Bombers come to town. Though the Yankees don’t boast the stars that they did in the mid-2000’s, New York is always a big draw on the road and the average price of $112 is the third highest on the year.
Once again, the cheapest tickets at SeatSmart are $22 per ticket for Section 425, Row BB, Seats 1-20. Those same seats cost $29 per ticket at StubHub.
