One more reason the NBA won’t come to Kansas City: David Stern threatens contraction

If you were inside the sold out Sprint Center for the Miami Heat-Oklahoma City Thunder game, you probably were thinking that this had to have proven that the NBA can work in Kansas City. Sure, it didn’t hurt that three of the NBA’s top stars were on the hardwood. But it was a sign, right? Yes, but the latest rhetoric from NBA commissioner David Stern is bad news for Kansas City hoops fans.

With the players and the owners butting heads while trying to hammer out a new collective bargaining

agreement and a lockout a real possibility, Stern is threatening to eliminate franchises.
