Omar Bravo bobblehead night turns ugly; Sporting KC goalie Jimmy Nielsen gets hit in the face by thrown bobblehead
Last night’s Sporting Kansas City game against the Portland Timbers should be remembered for boosting the team’s playoff hopes, for midfielder Graham Zusi’s two goals — one of them a breathtaking bullet from long range — and rookie Soony Saad’s first goal as a SKC member that came on his 19th birthday. It was a hell of game and an important win to rebound from a frustrating loss to Seattle in SKC’s last match.
Instead, it will likely be remembered for an idiot fan throwing one of the Omar Bravo bobbleheads (given to the first 10,000 people through the gates) and bloodying SKC goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen’s face. He folded up for several minutes before getting bandaged up and remaining in the game. People just plain suck. KCTV5 is reporting that two people were taken into custody.
