No Pants? No Problem!

There’s a time and a place for everything. Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day was back in January, so stop the popping already. Focus instead on popping and locking. This is National Dance Day, as declared by the producers of So You Think You Can Dance. Around the country, Jazzercise groups and performing-arts centers are dancing for health and cultural enrichment. Meanwhile, people in the West Bottoms plan to dance without their pants. Of course, this event involves gender-bending Mercury Mad and his band, the Plastic Bitches. Other acts on the bill include Tony “HeyDJ” Perez and the B’Dinas. Entrance is strictly 18 and older, with a $10 admission for the 18- to 20-year-olds and a $5 cover for those 21 and up. The warehouse party starts at 8 p.m. at 1310 Union. Pants are optional (organizers just ask that attendees “be respectful”), but shoes are mandatory. Look for “Pants OFF, Dance OFF!!!” on Facebook.
