Night Lines

Some of modern poetry’s freshest writers came together for the 2007 anthology The Wind Shifts: New Latino Poetry. Two years later, the book’s contributors are still promoting it — and their art. At 6:30 p.m., the tour stops at the Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library (14 West 10th Street). On hand: the book’s editor, Francisco Aragón, and a couple of strong emergent voices, Brenda Cárdenas and John Olivares Espinoza. A 6 p.m. reception precedes the event, and the writers will sign books. Call 816-701-3407 to RSVP. For more details, call the Latino Writers Collective at 816-333-6349 or see kclibrary.org.
