New Tip Jar at the Downtown Peanut
For over two years — which is incredible, when you think about it — the Peanut downtown (419 W. 9th St.) has been home to a vital part of the hip-hop scene, with Hip-Hop & Hot Wings on Sundays, the Jumpoff on Wednesdays, the occasional weeknight performance by an out-of-town act, and some stuff I don’t even know about.
But none of that mattered a whit to the miscreant who stole the joint’s downstairs PA speakers from the back of Beat Broker’s car. The whole sad story is on HipHopKC.
They’re setting up a donation jar at the bar to help replace the stolen speakers. Don’t get it confused with the bartender’s tip jar or you might get poked in the eye by the long, yellow, arthritic finger of bad karma.
