In Lawrence, Richard’s Music used to occupy a little nook just off Massachusetts, between Seventh and Eighth streets and right in front of a parking lot. After the unfortunate demise of the Olive Art Gallery, Lynn Piller, the owner of Richard’s Music, moved the store to the vacated locale. And Lynn’s wife, Sally, decided to open up a new art space, the 6 Gallery (716 1/2 Massachusetts), in the small space that Richard’s Music had abandoned. Sally Piller’s goal is to provide a place where local, regional and national artists who are lacking in the exposure department can show, tell and sell. The 6’s latest show, Inner Journeys, opens tonight with a reception at 7. The work of 28 artists will be on display, along with that of the Lawrence Lithography Workshop. The pieces are diverse — painting, photography, jewelry, and mixed-media — but they’re united by the (admittedly broad) themes of truth and the search for meaning.
