New Epic Gaga Video for “Alejandro”

Okay, so, I know that we all have kinda mixed feelings when it comes to Lady Gaga’s seven-minute-plus epic videos. (Her Kill Bill-riffing forays in the “Telephone” video were a bit, ahm, disjointed, to say the least.) The newest installment in the Gaga video saga came out today, and it’s for her ABBA-and-Ace-Of-Base flavored ballad, “Alejandro.” The faux-Latin dance jam is arguably her strongest track on The Fame Monster, and the video isn’t far behind. It’s directed by fashion photographer Steven Klein, and it’s a very obvious tribute to the work of the original pop provocateur herself, Madonna. We’ve got some homoerotic Nazi marching, some dudes in fishnets, some bondage, some German Expressionism, and some of the most overtly sexualized Gaga that we’ve seen thus far. The verdict? We like it.

Love it or hate it, it’s worth nine minutes of your time on this mind-numbingly muggy afternoon.
