New clinic promises medical aid to puppies suffering from economic depression

It’s been barely a month since KC’s animal shelters were on the verge of euthanizing dozens upon dozens of sweet, gentle puppies due to overcrowding. God bless you, Kansas City. You came through and gave a lot of pooches a home for Christmas, even though you couldn’t save them all.

There wouldn’t be so many red alerts from the shelter volunteers if the economy wasn’t so bad. Lots of people who had jobs when they adopted their dogs, and lost them in the market collapse, started viewing their animals as luxuries they couldn’t afford anymore. Luckily, starting next week, the metro will have a place targeted specifically at those who need financial assistance to take their pets to the vet.
