NEVER FORGET

From the rubble of the World Trade Center rose Anne Nelson’s play The Guys, based on her experience assisting a New York fire captain write eulogies for the men he lost when the towers fell on 9/11. Likely the first dramatic work to address the tragedy, it premiered off-Broadway barely a year later. It’s no less poignant today, as the Bell Road Barn Players, under the direction of Doug Ford, present The Guys to commemorate the eighth anniversary of the attacks. Appearing at Park University’s McCoy Meeting House (8700 River Park Drive in Parkville), the play runs two weeks only, Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for children under 12. Fire, police and EMS professionals displaying a current ID receive $1 off a regular adult admission. To reserve tickets, call 816-587-0218 or see bellroadbarn.org.

Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 13, 2 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 20, 2 p.m. Starts: Sept. 10. Continues through Sept. 19, 2009
