Namelessnumberheadman

A humble Kansas City trio of indie-pop engineers, Namelessnumberheadman has never really needed much encouragement or recognition to keep recording awesome songs. Nor does the band need a professional studio, label support or product endorsements. These guys didn’t even need a new keyboard for the drummer to make this year’s wonderful Wires Reply — multitasker Andrew Sallee still plunks the same old synth with his left hand while drumming with the rest of his limbs and singing into the mic. It’s not that Nameless doesn’t want riches and bitches and toys; the group just hasn’t gotten its lucky break. The chances of that finally occurring seem lower now that each of the guys has a family and one lives in Boston. But they ain’t made a disincentive strong enough to make NNHM pack it in yet. Show the band much-needed love when it plays as a duo Friday at the Brick. Expect more stripped-down, acoustic arrangements of the group’s meditative, quietly majestic tunes. Expect also to leave with a copy of Wires Reply in hand.
