The storyline of Shuffle, a new play written and directed by Jeremy Lillig, smells suspiciously like Garden State: A numb young man questions the mental-health system as he tries to make sense of his relationships and destiny. And all that post-adolescent figuring out is set to a cool soundtrack, too. Lillig uses the Pixies, Incubus, Guster and Nancy Sinatra tunes as the very foundation of his scenes. “The pace of the show kind of advances like tracks on a CD,” Lillig tells the Pitch. The curtain opens on Shuffle at 8 tonight and Saturday in Avila University’s Goppert Theatre (11901 Wornall). Tickets are $10. For reservations, call 816-298-6887.
