MP3: the Plimsouls, “Zero Hour” (live)

Back in 1981, the Plimsouls recorded a Halloween show at the Whisky A Go Go. The band was a live force to be reckoned with at that point, and were picked to be in the film Valley Girl, whose soundtrack yielded their biggest hit, “A Million Miles Away.”
After that, the band re-recorded the song for their 1983 album Everywhere At Once, which is one of those albums that everyone really ought to own. It’s a masterpiece of power pop.
With the release of this new live album on February 23, which is called Live! Beg, Borrow & Steal, it’ll be the only Plimsouls album in print. Of course, you can get the others via Amazon and the various used bins around town. The live album will be released by Alive Records, and includes three songs done with special guests the Fleshtones.
