Mother’s Day: Where to take Mom (cheap edition)

​You love your mother, of course. Everyone knows that. But in this economy it may not be the right time for an elaborate meal to celebrate Mother’s Day. Here in Fat City, we can suggest less costly alternatives that are much more special than dashing into QuikTrip and picking up a couple of corn dogs and a package of Marlboro Lights for the old girl.

Here are a few tasteful suggestions.

The First Watch restaurants won’t just be serving their modestly priced breakfast and lunch items (the check average is about $8.50 per person). On Mother’s Day, First Watches will offer each mom a box of Kansas City’s own Russell Stover chocolates.
