Mohamed Hussein shot to death at Independence and Brooklyn avenues; 32 homicides in KCMO

UPDATE: Kansas City police have identified the victim of Thursday morning’s homicide as 25-year-old Mohamed Hussein.

Original Story (May 19): May continues to be a deadly month in Kansas City, Missouri. A man was shot to death early this morning at Independence and Brooklyn avenues, taking KCMO’s homicide death toll to 32 for 2011.

Police described the victim as a black man in his 20s. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and possible persons of interest in the case.
