Mizzou will play North Carolina in the Independence Bowl

  • Mizzou will play its final Big 12 game in Shreveport.

If Mizzou really thinks it’s ready for the big time by joining the SEC, they might want to devote some time to meditating over bowl game announcements that came out yesterday. While two of the Tigers’ new SEC competitors — Louisiana State and Alabama — will play for the BCS National Championship, Mizzou will take on North Carolina in the Advocare V100 Independence Bowl. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m. December 26 at the Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. ESPN2 will broadcast the game.

In case you’re curious, Advocare is a vitamin supplement that the FDA has not evaluated. Here is the description from the company’s website: “V100™ supplement provides a synergistic combination of vitamins and minerals to help supply the body with the nutritional components it needs to maintain optimal health.” The site adds, “Not only is it permissible for NCAA coaches to give to collegiate players, but its individual and convenient packaging allows for worry-free distribution in the locker room.”
