Mizzou looking at $12 million TV money bump with jump to SEC; interim Big 12 commish disputes figures

Documents obtained by the Associated Press on Monday showed why the University of Missouri would want to jump to the SEC from the Big 12. There were $12 million worth of reasons. Annually.
The AP got its hands on a 45-page document on which Mizzou’s Board of Curators based its decision to give chancellor Brady Deaton permission to explore moving Mizzou out of the Big 12. According to the report, Missouri stands to make $12 million more in annual revenue in the SEC than in the Big 12, if/when the SEC renegotiates its top-tier TV rights. And that figure could jump if the SEC starts its own network.
But not so fast, says interim Big 12 commissioner Chuck Neinas, who disputed whether Mizzou could pull an additional $12 million a year with a move to the SEC.
