Missouri, you’ll have to wait to find out your Big Ten fate

This is getting awkward. Big Ten expansion is still “months away” if not
a year, according to an ESPN report
on Tuesday, leaving Missouri hanging and the Big 12 feeling bitter.
Big
Ten commissioner Jim Delany — the most popular (and hated) man
in college sports — broke hearts in Columbia when he announced that the
conference wouldn’t be extending any invitations to new members and the
league’s presidents and chancellors wouldn’t be voting on new members
at the June 6 meeting.
“There will be no vote,” Delany said.
“That’s not in our time frame. …
We’re months away.”
