Missouri teachers might be able to stay Facebook friends with their students … if Gov. Jay Nixon lets them

The Missouri General Assembly wants teachers and students to stay Facebook friends. Sort of. According to Crime Scene KC, lawmakers voted to repeal the law that outlawed Show-Me State teachers and students from communicating privately via social-media sites, like Facebook.

However, Gov. Jay Nixon has the power to put the kibosh on the repeal, which would be replaced with a new requirement empowering school districts to write their own policies.
