Missouri tattoo artists, the state is after your money

Missouri’s tattoo artists better get ready to pay higher fees to practice their craft. The state of Missouri wants to triple licensing fees charged to tattoo artists to offset the costs of overseeing the industry, according to the Associated Press.

Two-year licensing fees for tattooists and body piercers would jump from $30 to $100. Tattoo businesses would also see increased licensing fees under a proposal published for public comment. It’s all a grab for money, expected to pull in an extra $120,000 for the state during each two-year licensing cycle.
