A report issued by the Violence Policy Center ranks Missouri second in the nation per capita in black homicides, The Associated Press reports (via KCTV 5).

The dubious distinction coming from the Washington, D.C.-based non-profit organization says the Show-Me State recorded 235 black homicide victims (or 34.82 per 100,000 black residents) in 2007. The average age of victims in Missouri is 30.

The worst states: Pennsylvania ranked first. Trailing Missouri was Indiana, Nevada and Wisconsin.

How are we killing each other? The report says 84 percent of the victims were shot and killed by guns.
