Missouri lawmakers trying to make it harder for women to get emergency contraception

Lawmakers in the Missouri House are awfully concerned with the fragile psyches — and wallets — of pharmacists. So much so that on Tuesday, they voted 109-42 to pass an amendment that would allow pharmacists to refuse to dispense birth control.
State Rep. Ed Emery (Republican from Lamar) sponsored the amendment that would allow pharmacists to not stock emergency contraception such as hormonal birth control, the morning after pill and RU 486. The amendment would also protect them from being sued if they don’t fill such prescriptions.
And here I thought CVS locking condoms in a glass case was a roadblock to contraception.
