Missing Missouri Trooper Frederick Guthrie Jr.’s K-9 partner found drowned in flood water

Sad news in the search for a missing Missouri Highway Patrol trooper Fredrick Guthrie Jr.: The body of his K-9 partner, Reed, was recovered from “swift moving flood water” about 100 yards from where Guthrie’s patrol truck and boat were found.

On Monday, Guthrie and Reed were working flood duty around Big Lake in Holt County when they were apparently swept away by flood waters. Recovery efforts for Guthrie resumed Wednesday morning.
