MGMT’s new video for “It’s Working”
Electro-pop-turned-jammy-psych band MGMT didn’t do so hot at the Uptown on Sunday night.
But it’s newsworthy that the mind behind Justice’s famous “D.A.N.C.E.” video — director So Me — created MGMT’s newest video endeavor for “It’s Working.” It’s not as trippy as their last video for “Flash Delirium,” where a weird, disturbing snake-thing emerges from Ben Goldwasser’s throat during a dinner party. (Do not want.) But it’s still bizarre enough: Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser build a machine that turns various things psychedelic colors and spits out American Apparel models, Mexican drummers, and soft-serve ice cream. Meh, I’m sure they already have one of those in Brooklyn somewhere.
