MerleJam at Knuckleheads

If a dose of Texas twang wasn’t good enough, Knuckleheads has another reason for you to head down to the East Bottoms tonight: the venue is hosting MerleJam, a benefit named for Knuckleheads’ Merle Zuel who recieved a heart transplant several years ago. Proceeds go to the Midwest Transplant Network, and Ray Wylie Hubbard headlines tonight’s show (it’s country-themed; tomorrow’s is blues-themed). Hubbard is one of Texas’ finer singer-songwriters, and he’s been crafting songs since the early ’70s. You won’t find a finer way to kick back, crack open a cold one and enjoy some old-fashioned American music, all for a good cause.

Here’s the line-up for both nights:
Friday, May 7 (Country Night)

7PM: The BullHaulers

8PM: Outlaw Jim & the Whiskey Benders

9PM: Roger Creager

10:30PM: Ray Wylie Hubbard

Saturday, May 8 (Blues Night):

5PM: Four Fried Chickens & A Coke

6PM: Stacy Mitchhart

8PM: Kris Lager Band

9PM: Devon Allman’s Honeytribe

11PM: Trampled Under Foot
