Creature Feature: Meet Apollo and Cosmo, two pups who have waited over a year for a home
Creature Feature is The Pitch’s weekly profile on a local animal looking for adoption. Shelters and support in Kansas City and the surrounding region are often pushed to the breaking point, so picking one future companion to highlight is how we want to put them on your radar. But there are far more than we could ever fit into our pages. Some of the frequent resources and groups we work with—who also have hundreds of other furry friends to flip through—include Great Plains SPCA, Olathe Animal Shelter, The Pet Connection, All Paws & Pals Play and Stay, Pleasant Hill Animal Control, Pawportunities, Wayside Waifs, Midwest Animal Resq, Pawsperity, Wild Souls Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Humane Society Pet Food Pantry, KC Action For Animals, and Pet Resource Center of KC. For more resources like these, and for everything that help people with their needs too, check out The Pitch’s Community Resource Guide.
Here’s this week’s Creature Feature:
Apollo and Cosmo have spent over a year at Ivy Bend Animal Rescue in Stover, Missouri—growing up without a family to call their own. They arrived as puppies last February, and despite their playful spirits and loving hearts, they’re still waiting for their chance at adoption.
They need a home or a foster as soon as possible. Ivy Bend doesn’t adopt directly from the shelter, so these boys need a rescue, foster, or adopter to step up and change their story.
Apollo is the larger, mostly black pup. And Cosmo is his loyal sidekick.
These two are fun, energetic, and so deserving of a second chance. They’ve waited far too long, and are not wanting to wait any longer.
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Apollo and Cosmo, please call (952)-237-9369 or go to the Ivy Bend Animal Rescue’s website.
