MAST, Stretch and the stories of the day

A few quick links this morning:
- MAST, Kansas City’s ambulance service, is now in the hands of the Kansas City Fire Department, whose employees are represented by the most powerful union in town.
- Stretch is on the TIF Commission. Going back to Wednesday’s Star, hilarious advice from reanimated Mayor Funkhouser. “He needs to get more savvy more quick.”
- Leavenworth Mayor Shay Baker was ousted as mayor at a special meeting last night. Baker wrote a letter to a federal judge asking for leniency for an old friend who was convicted of dealing drugs. Check out KSHB Channel 41’s video of Baker incurring the wrath of angry old white women.
- A 24-year-old Independence woman died from the H1N1 flu on Thursday. The woman’s name hasn’t been released.
