On his latest solo release, Get Lucky, the former Dire Straits frontman and guitar virtuoso (voted the 27th best of all time by Rolling Stone) still exudes the cozy, Bailey’s-in-your-coffee sweetness that has made him a singer-songwriter staple (and one of your parents’ favorites, which you’d know if you bothered to call home once in a while). Combine that with the Jenny Lewis-meets-Loretta Lynn crooning of the Iowa City-born Brown, and you’re in for a night that stirs a little country-and-western honey into its Americana hot tea.
