Manute Bol, retired basketball player, suffering from acute kidney failure (updated)

Update (12:58 p.m. May 24): Sounds like retired NBA player and Olathe resident Manute Bol is doing better.
The 7-foot-7 center was hospitalized May 12 with acute kidney failure and Stevens-Johnson
Syndrome (a potentially deadly skin disease).
Bol’s friend, Tom Prichard, sent a Facebook message saying Bol has been transferred out of the intensive care unit and has started eating a little.
“Thanks be to God that he made it to the US just in time to get much-needed medical care,” Prichard wrote. “Many thanks to everyone for your prayers and beautiful messages.”
