Man prays for a week for dead fiancee to reanimate; fiancee stays dead

The power of prayer couldn’t bring a 54-year-old Wichita man’s fiancee back to life. The Wichita Eagle reported that the man prayed for “divine intervention” to bring his fiancee back to life, but she unsurprisingly stayed dead.

This went on for about a week before the woman’s relatives requested a welfare check by Wichita police, who found the woman dead in her bed. The relatives had no idea that she’d died because her fiance was too busy praying for her resurrection.

Lt. Doug Nolte told the Eagle that police haven’t found anything to suggest foul play, but an autopsy is scheduled for today. The man was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
