Man in ‘grave condition’ after Sunday shooting at 54th and Bellefontaine

A shooting Sunday night has left two people with life-threatening injuries.

Kansas City police responded to a “shots fired” call near 54th and Bellefontaine around 8:10 p.m.

Officers found two shooting victims — described as a black man and a black woman in their twenties — in a car on the curb of the intersection. The man and woman were taken to a local hospital. The man’s condition is described as “grave.”
