Lust, Love, Lesbians

With her lame pop-up poetry and casual infidelities, Jenny Schecter has earned her reputation as The L Word‘s most annoying character. Still, even Jenny haters might have felt sorry for her during the Season 5 finale, in which she watched her treacherous assistant assume control of the film made from her autobiographical book and she discovered the objects of her affection — her best friend, Shane, and her former fling, Niki — in a compromising position. Jenny’s final lines: “It’s the ultimate betrayal. You’ve broken my heart.” So things can’t get any worse for Jenny in The L Word‘s final season, right? Um, don’t be so sure. Season 6 premieres at the Screenland Armour Theatre (408 Armour Road in North Kansas City, 816-421-9700) at 5 p.m. today. The suggested donation (to the Human Rights Campaign) for this 21-and-older event is $10. For more information or to RSVP, see hrc.org/lword.;— Andrew Miller
