Lunchtime Tunes

In the early 1980s, multi-instrumentalist Billy Ebeling used to drive from Lawrence to Westport to busk for rent money. Fortunately, he was able to turn his harmonica-and-accordion street performances into paid appearances that eventually allowed him to travel and play in Australia, New Zealand and South America. He’s been back in KC since 2000, and very recently he released an album of classic-rock and blues covers called Conniption Fit. He brings his Late for Dinner Band to the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library (625 Minnesota, 913-551-3280) for Lyrics at the Library, a free noon concert. Local food vendors are slated to be on hand. “It’s going to be a fun gig. I just hope the librarian doesn’t come out and shush us,” Ebeling jokes.
