TheCall is billed as an event centered on prayer and fasting, a place where you can wash away your sins with “nothing but the blood of Jesus.”

But in the heat of mid-term election season, this weekend’s event in Sacramento — put on by Kansas City-based preacher and noted gay-hater Lou Engle — is taking on a decidedly political feel.
