Look Mexico at the Jackpot

The most fun I’ve ever had at a show was seeing Look Mexico in the tiny room on the bottom floor of the Knitting Factory in New York City. The Tallahassee band played first to a crowd of maybe 50 people, and about halfway through the band’s set, they decided to take everything down a notch.

By “taking it down a notch,” they all sat down on stage, and had the audience do the same. There’s no better way to make everyone feel like it’s just a show, and no need to posture or pose, than to have everyone sitting cross-legged on the floor and on the same level. It only lasted a few songs, but I’ve never fallen in love with a band so easily as I did at that show.

You owe it to yourself to catch Look Mexico at the Jackpot tonight, when they play with Colony Collapse and Weatherbox. The show is all-ages and starts at 8:00 p.m.
