Local psychics predict natural disasters … and respectability for the Royals in 2010?

​First, the good news: 2010 will not be the year for serious seismic activity along the New Madrid Fault Line in Missouri. But there will be several major earthquakes shaking things up in 2010 — including the East Coast of the United States — since this is the year, according to several of the local psychics who gathered last night at the Aquarius store in Westport, that “Mother Nature starts World War III on human beings.”

If that sounds ominous, there were also woeful predictions for the economy (stay tuned for another global economic downturn in the summer), the local job market, insurance companies, and reality TV show stars. But here’s a glimmer of hope: It will be an excellent year for dining out in Kansas City!

Less than a dozen people braved the cold and snowy streets to sit on folding chairs in the upstairs room at Aquaruis to listen to the store’s owner Barbara Criswell — an expert on the Mayan calendar and prophesies — and a panel that included psychic Steve MacDonald; KKFI-FM’s longtime host of the call-in “Psychic Talk” program Saphira;  and psychic medium Karen Glasgow-Follet.
