Local H

Scott Lucas and Joe Daniels — better known as Local H — approach rock like it’s a matter of life and death. Rough-hewn and rugged enough to leave bruises, Local H’s sound is burnished by grunge and inspired by classic rock. The band cut its teeth as a quartet, but Local H forged on after the bassist and the other guitarist left. Lucas installed bass pickups in his guitar and turned up the volume, so there was no diminishment of his brutal sound. Fifteen years after its first album, the band is out on its “Six Angry Records” tour — an audience member is asked to pull a title out of a cowboy hat, and then the band performs that album in its entirety.
