Live Nation launches “No Service Fee Wednesday”

In a wonderful little thing that started at 12:01am today, Live Nation will not charge service fees on Wednesdays. According to Billboard, every Wednesday throughout the rest of the summer, Live Nation will offer a variety of “No Service Fee Wednesdays” specials at LiveNation.com.

Tickets without service fees are available at all Live Nation-ticketed amphitheaters for concerts including blink-182, Coldplay, No Doubt, Nickelback, Depeche Mode, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Crue Fest, Def Leppard/Poison/Cheap Trick, Kid Rock/Lynyrd Skynyrd, Phish, Nine Inch Nails/Jane’s Addition, the Dead, Rascal Flatts, and many others. Jim DeRogatis has a great breakdown of exactly what you’ll be saving where.

Of course, this promotion is not valid in combination with other special pricing offers and is subject to availability — meaning you might just be straight outta luck if there’s a specific show you’ve got in mind. Case in point: KC Warped Tour attendees will not be saving fees.

They’re not announcing what shows will be discounted (or, really, just regular price) when. Aside from all of the discounted shows being at amphitheaters, there’s no master list of who and where. And amphitheaters mean Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone and Starlight are your only chances here in town. Best of luck.

UPDATE (06/08/09): Live Nation has alerted the Wayward Blog that its No Service Fee Wednesday special does not apply to any Kansas City venues. Though Live Nation books and promotes for local venues including Starlight and Sandstone, it does not own those venues, so, unfortunately, the special does not apply to any shows coming up in KC. Sorry for the confusion.
