Little Brazil to play record release party at Czar Bar

On March 24, Little Brazil, one of my favorite Omaha indie rock bands will release a new record — on Kansas City’s own Anodyne Records, no less. Three days later, on March 27, LB will play a CD-release party at Czar Bar.

Son is the name of the new album, which is kind of a concept project. Most of the songs are about a couple who fall in love, have a baby and eventually divorce. Three cuts that the band recorded last fall for Daytrotter offer a glimpse of the new material.

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Landon Hedges says he wove a little autobiography into lyrics. He’s a master of painful introspection (which accounts for the name of the band’s last album — Tighten the Noose, released on Mt. Fuji Records in 2007). Hedges used to play with other notable Nebraska acts Desparecidos and the Good Life.
