Leftover Salmon

While Leftover Salmon has been riding the jam circuit for the past eleven years, its current incarnation represents a marked departure from its meager origins. After emerging at the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the Boulder, Colorado-born group quickly earned accolades as a next-generation soldier in the slamgrass revolution, a movement that owes much to the efforts of such innovators as Sam Bush and his groundbreaking New Grass Revival. Now incorporating everything from traditional bluegrass to boogie, funk, Latin, rock, jazz, and almost all points in between, Leftover Salmon has proven that it has the skills to redefine its boundaries with every set it plays. With the fresh addition of banjo phenom Noam Pikelny, founding members Vince Herman (guitars and vocals) and Drew Emmitt (fiddle, mandolin and vocals) have solidified a lineup that only recently saw the addition of keyboardist Bill McKay, drummer Jose Martinez and bassist Greg Garrison. As the diversity of the band’s talent continues to expand, so will the breadth and scope of its sound, a guarantee that this Salmon will stay fresh for years to come.
