Le Castle Vania

Many in the electronic-music community think that most of their numbers came into electronic music from a hip-hop angle. But if you took a poll, you would probably find that most of the rave-school generation fell into dance music from a rock direction. On Thanksgiving night, locals Nomathmatics and the self-described “bicoastal” Le Castle Vania mix down a night of indie-rock-dance fusion at the Record Bar. Describing his production, remixes and DJ sets as “electronic music with a rock attitude,” Le Castle Vania (real name: Dylan Eiland) specializes in an unorthodox indie-dance style with heavy electro inclinations. Originally from Atlanta, Eiland told URB magazine that his move was a way to escape the crunk-ridden city. But even the most die-hard crunk extremists can’t hate on a DJ who isn’t afraid to crowd-surf.
