Lauren Faust, queen of the Bronies, set for KC FilmFest

Lauren Faust, the woman who popularized My Little Pony cartoons with little girls and adult male fans, is scheduled to attend a Kansas City FilmFest screening of the documentary Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony at the Alamo Drafthouse Mainstreet (at 14th Street and Main).
Faust, who is credited as an executive producer on Bronies, is slated for the Saturday, April 13, screening at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $20.
Scripts written by Faust and her collaborators have not only encouraged youngsters and their parents to understand the value of friendship but have also managed to inject a lot of wit, insight and heart into a series originally intended to sell Hasbro toys.
