Latin Flair

Over the past four days, the Lawrence area has hosted performers who specialize in Spanish and Latin American music. Folks such as Argentinian classical guitarist Carlos Gutkin and Spanish mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza have been giving master classes and public performances in conjunction with the first annual International Festival of Spanish and Latin American Music. The festival continues today with a 7:30 p.m. performance at Liberty Hall (642 Massachusetts). The final public performance is at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Carlsen Center’s Polsky Theatre (12345 College Boulevard) on the campus of Johnson County Community College in Overland Park.
