Latenight Callers, Kentucky Knife Fight and Knife Crime are at RecordBar this Friday

If you’ve never seen local quartet the Latenight Callers, you should know that they have sexy on speed dial. Done up with pinup-girl-style hair and makeup and looking calendar-ready, lead singer Julie Berndsen is a vampy force to be reckoned with – and she has a voice to match her look. On the band’s debut full-length, June’s Songs for Stolen Moments, Berndsen slinks and slithers through gothic synths and drumbeats like the dangerous starlet of a film noir.
On the other hand, Kentucky Knife Fight is actually far less treacherous than it sounds. The St. Louis band blends rowdy barroom blues with rowdier rock and roll, and Jason Holler’s lead vocals are just gruff enough to stand out against all the shrieking guitars. Local rockers Knife Crime open.
Latenight Callers, Kentucky Knife Fight and Knife Crime are at RecordBar on Friday, January 31. Details here.
